My New Video: Vincent's Time To Shine

It's Vincent Valentine's birthday today: October 13th.  Cenzo (Vincent) is feeling egotistical today so he blocks Cloud from view on the poster.  He wants us to know that he is a Final Fantasy VII hero too.

Happy Birthday Vincent Valentine!

My Vincent Valentine Plushie Watches Himself on TV

I plan to make and upload more of these (with and without the TV) once I have a proper plan/script written out for them. This one didn't have a plan, I just did it live, short and sweet.

This is the debut of my Vincent Valentine plushie on myYouTube Channel (wait, I don't have many videos uploaded on my channel, WTF...) O__O

Vincent knows I am watching cut scenes from Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII but he blocks my view and is surprised to see himself in the game.  The audio for the TV is not meant to be loud or clear, so if you can't hear the audio, don't worry about it  ;P

Dreaming About Video Games Again

I dreamed that I was playing another Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII video game as Vincent Valentine, and there were always bullets flying toward him. I had Vincent do all kinds of evasive manuvers just to get hit by as low as one out of every eighth bullet. It was some kind of hard mode or something.

Am I dreaming about this game because I miss it? I do want to watch the scenes again. Vincent is a cool-enough character to get his own game like Cloud Strife. Of course that is my own opinion.

Also, NiGHTS appeared in my dreams in some shape or form, twice in a row (adjacent nights).

That reminds me: Lynne Triplett (aka TRiPPY) from NiGHTS into Dreams.com is including fan art for the NiGHTS into Dreams and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams games into the website. I am so excited to see the art work there and I kept squealing and squeeing with delight at how wonderful these drawings are. I plan to submit some artwork of my own, but I will have to wait til later. I mean, I can start drawing now (or soon), but I need to wait until the existing fan art has been posted from the old website to the new/current website so that she is not more overwhelmed than she already is :D I am patient and can cook up some NiGHTS and Reala fan art of my own so that they are ready when the time comes to submit them later.

Here's the link if you wanna check out the art work for NiGHTS into Dreams: http://www.nightsintodreams.com/?p=1568

Here's the link for fan art of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams: http://www.nightsintodreams.com/?p=1591

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! NiGHTS! SQUEEEEEEEEE......!

New Year, New Habits

The New Year has started and I don’t think I even touched my PS2 or my PSP so far. Maybe I needed a break from gaming? I dunno. It is still one of my favorite pastimes. I guess after finishing Crisis Core near the end of last year, I feel like, “Gosh is there any other video game as good as this?”

I need to return to the list of games I started but haven’t finished yet. That should get me started. Of course, that will include Mega Man X: Command Mission and Mega Man X8.   I probably shouldn't buy any more new video games until I finish at least five of the ones I already have  :D !  And Dissidia: FF is going to keep me busy on the PSP for a long while.

Other Video Games I Haven’t Played in a Long While That I Should Return To

Sonic Unleashed (the latest Sonic Game I have)

Final Fantasy XII (I’m supposed to be in the Stilshrine Miriam now…)

Sonic Rivals 2 (Stupid elusive Chao…stupid Sonic…LET SHADOW WIN!!)

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (Why do I neglect NiGHTS so?)

Devil May Cry 4 (Yeah…because I only just started it.)

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (uh, yeah…this game too)

Lately I've been having dreams that included Cloud Strife, even Zack Fair,  and/or Vincent Valentine.  The graphics were as good as FFVII: Advent Children Complete.  I feel like even though I've sort of already finished Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, I should give the Extra Missions a try.  The extra missions in Crisis Core seem more appealing to me though (more than the ones in Dirge of Cerberus).  That could be because I am not that good at aiming Vincent's Cerberus at things.  I just make him shoot and hope that the target mark stays where it's supposed to so that he gets a hit.    I should just go for it and give Vincent's game a chance again.  That mysterious Vincent...I am all of a sudden interested in his mysteriousness again.

My Re-Appreciation of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII ^8^

Monday night of last week I suddenly felt like watching all the unlocked scenes from Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, so I switched on the PS2 and put the memory card and disc in the PS2. I wanted to watch all of them, from Chapter One to Chapter Twelve, but as it happened it was actually 12:00am that following Tuesday morning, so I couldn’t. Each scene has to be chosen individually and each and every scene has a loading time. Ugh. I only reached up to the very beginning of Chapter 7, when Cid Highwind’s airship The Shera comes in to help out Vincent, Yuffie and Reeve.

:D
Rosso: “Hand over the Protomateria, and I will kill you quickly.”

Vincent: “……. [Blinks]…….” (Translation: “No.”)

Rosso: “Not one to bargain, aren’t we?”

I had forgotten how great the original score for this video game was. I got the soundtrack a few years ago sometime after I got the game itself. The composer for Dirge of Cerberus is Masashi Hamauzu. I love the whole score, but I had to find the OST and put some of the tracks in my Dream Pod. Just in case I get the urge to listen to something Dirge of Cerberus-y.

IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day, and that means it’s also the anniversary of the release of the original soundtrack to Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (in Japan). Also, Vincent’s last name is Valentine, so I just thought I’d throw that in today.

So give Vincent Valentine your love. Because he’s sad and he needs love. Look at his face; he has lonely-looking eyes. Doesn’t it make you want to feel like giving him a big-ass hug? ^,^

Vincent Valentine B-Day October 13th :)

Gosh darnit, I'm late.  I wanted to do this on the actual October 13th this past Tuesday but other things got in the way, so I'll do this now before too many days pass by:
Happy  Be-lated Birthday, Vincent Valentine!  ^,^
Sorry, I had to do that.  He's my #2 Final Fantasy character so I have a thing for remembering stuff like this.  He's cool and he's a bad-ass:
  • wearing that long red cape that's ripped on the ends (one reason why I want to crossplay as him someday),
  • wearing gold-colored steel hand armor,
  • gold-colored steel shoe armor,
  • the Cerberus gun that shoots three bullets at a time,
  • he has red eyes,
  • his body was experimented on by mad scientist Professor Hojo,
  • he wants revenge,
  • he's a man with inner torture because of his "sins", which is also why he is hardly smiling at all (awww...),
  • his Chaos form (he really looks like a vampire here; check this out, it's the first image on the webpage),
  • voice actor Steve Blum lending him his voice,
  • he's Vincent Valentine!
Too bad I wasn't blogging in August; I could have given Cloud Strife a post about him on his birthday.  But then I'd be seen as crazy or worse.  I'd write paragraph after paragraph after paragraph... (lol?)
And for those fans who remember Vincent for being the intriuging character that he is rather than for the gameplay in Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, I applaud you.

Why do people hate this game?! #1

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

Okay, fellas.  I'm a Vincent Valentine fan.  He's my #2 video game character, man.  Yes, I'm not a big fan of third-person shooters, disregarding Jak II and Jak 3.  I sucked at playing some of the missions in Dirge of Cerberus and of course I am not as good at aiming as Vincent wants me to be, ha ha.  But I finished this game.  I finished it.  Wanna know why?  It's cuz I didn't care how frustrating the gameplay was.  As a Vincent Valentine fan, this game was a must-have for me: it's Final Fantasy VII part three, starring Vincent!  There is enough to appreciate about this game just because it's another Square-Enix / FFVII title:

1.  The music is beautiful, in my opinion.  Composer Masashi Hamauzu is another musical genius who is almost as wonderful as Nobuo Uematsu.  The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra plays so well, expecially the violins.  Listen to the title screen/game start music.  The violin tugs at my soul.
2.   Gackt.  This video game is the reason I knew about J-rock star Gackt in the first place, with his two songs "Longing" and "Redemption."  These songs rock ass.  I'm glad I have the original soundtrack; I could not deny myself this pleasure.
3.   Vincent's past and origin.  Yes, I just had to know exactly what kind of demons Vincent was fighting inside him.  His past with Lucrecia Crescent, and Hojo, and the result of the experiments in which Vincent was a subject.
4.   The cutscenes.  To me, they are rewards--breaks, if you will-- for surviving through some of those frustrating missions.  When I reach a checkpoint, I could relax and watch Vincent blink, or pull out his gun.  Ah heh.
5.   Close-ups of Vincent.  Nuff said.

I know that not everyone liked this game.  I wonder how many people have finished it too.  It may not have helped some to be a FFVII fan.  It helped me though.  It made me love Vincent even more.  I mean, he's so cool!  I'd tell you guys why Cloud Strife and Vincent Valentine are both my two favorite characters in the Final Fantasy series, but I would have to save that for another post.  Stay tuned.
