I am so happy that I know I will be able to play NiGHTS into Dreams, even if it is going to be on my computer instead of a console.  I think it would be fun to play NiGHTS on my computer and use the mouse to point NiGHTS to the direction I want to go…at least that’s what I hope is going to happen.  I hope I don’t have to click the mouse for NiGHTS’s movement to count.   How do you play NiD with a video game controller, anyway?

 

If there is one PC video/computer game I’ll ever play, it’s going to be NiGHTS into Dreams.

Dreamed About a NiGHTS 3!!! (April 30th)

There was an ad in the form of a sticker that showed a pink-haired boy and brunette girl, with NiGHTS flying above them.  It was hard for me to believe but soon I hoped that there is going to be another sequel for NiGHTS.  I didn’t recognize those two perfect dreamers so I got excited (and genuinely felt so in the dream) that this was going to be a new NiGHTS video game yet to be released.

Oh, boy, do I wish it were for real!!

The weird thing was that, it was in my mom’s car, on her dashboard.  I had to ask her where she found that sticker.  I went on and explained what this game was about; every 100 years there are two perfect dreamers and they can only be young people.  They help out NiGHTS to save the dream world (Nightopia).  I spoke to her about the game with great passion.

I don’t remember if Reala was also going to be in the game or not.   I don’t think another NiGHTS game would be complete without Reala.

Playing NiGHTS Journey of Dreams on NiGHTS's 15th Anniversary

Of course this was back on July 5th, but I only recently uploaded this on my YouTube channel.

NiGHTS IS GIVEN STAR POWER IN NINTENDO POWER!!!

I screamed at the top of my lungs the first time I saw NiGHTS in the Star Power section of the gaming magazine Nintendo Power.  Boy did I scare my family (after I finished screaming I immediately explained that I was not in pain and that I was just really happy and excited about the special attention NiGHTS received in this issue of the magazine.).  The section is on pages 16 and 17.

It is finally the time that NiGHTS gets some recognition, especially since Sonic the Hedgehog has his 20th anniversary this summer, and NiGHTS has his 15th anniversary on the same season.  Just days apart from each other!  Unfortunately NiGHTS is not on the cover of the magazine.  According to NiD.com and The Sonic Stadium, NiGHTS was on the cover of Nintendo Power close to the days that the video game NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams would be released that November 2007.

I don't know if I am going to continue to subscribe to Nintendo Power after my subscription expires this December, so I am so happy that at least Mega Man and NiGHTS were given Star Power pages this year.  Without it I wouldn't have known that Mega Man could have been called "Rainbow Battle Kid" (because he changes colors depending on the type of weapon he's using).

I love the timeline that shows NiGHTS's appearances along the past 15 years.  I guess it is a month late in doing this for him, but at least it is soon (within the month of July 5th).  The facts (and ideas) about him are on the right page and they are quite fascinating, namely about his hands, feet, and "peculiar purple headgear".

I've been aware for a long time that NiGHTS is genderless, but I find myself calling NiGHTS "he" and "him," as the magazine has.  If he is also called "she" and "her," I have no problem with that because in my opinion, NiGHTS is whatever anyone wants him to be.  It really helps that I am attracted to colors related to purple or lavender.  : 3

Dreaming About Video Games Again

I dreamed that I was playing another Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII video game as Vincent Valentine, and there were always bullets flying toward him. I had Vincent do all kinds of evasive manuvers just to get hit by as low as one out of every eighth bullet. It was some kind of hard mode or something.

Am I dreaming about this game because I miss it? I do want to watch the scenes again. Vincent is a cool-enough character to get his own game like Cloud Strife. Of course that is my own opinion.

Also, NiGHTS appeared in my dreams in some shape or form, twice in a row (adjacent nights).

That reminds me: Lynne Triplett (aka TRiPPY) from NiGHTS into Dreams.com is including fan art for the NiGHTS into Dreams and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams games into the website. I am so excited to see the art work there and I kept squealing and squeeing with delight at how wonderful these drawings are. I plan to submit some artwork of my own, but I will have to wait til later. I mean, I can start drawing now (or soon), but I need to wait until the existing fan art has been posted from the old website to the new/current website so that she is not more overwhelmed than she already is :D I am patient and can cook up some NiGHTS and Reala fan art of my own so that they are ready when the time comes to submit them later.

Another NiGHTS related dream!!!!!!!!!!

Yay!!! NiGHTS! ^,^

I dreamed that I was in a video game/anime convention and I saw an art corner where there was a lot of NiGHTS fan art! The drawings looked really good, and there were a lot of adorable smiling NiGHTS.

One drawing showed NiGHTS protecting dreamer Elliot Edwards from an unseen Nightmaren.

Another one showed multiple NiGHTSs sitting in mid-air, or posing, and smiling on different parts of a huge tree in a My Dream-like environment.

Within the same dream, I had a new Sonic the Hedgehog comic book and inside the comic book was a page that had a subscription slip for the NiGHTS into Dreams comic book! The NiD comic book was back in production and I could order issues #1 to #3, #4 to #9, and subscribe to the upcoming issues!!

Oh man, if only that were true…

I DREAMED ABOUT NiGHTS!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!

The dream was about a trailer for a new NiGHTS video game. It was put to really cool music. In addition to the new NiGHTS video game, the copy included the original NiGHTS into Dreams game. NiGHTS’s voice sounded similar to the voice in Journey of Dreams but a little gentler in tone, more feminine.

So I decided to return to NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, since I forgot to do so on July 5 (one more year until his 15th Anniversary!!! =D ).   I went to Helen’s Dream to go back to My Dream, where I had 31 Nightopians waiting for me. When one Nightopian starts to sing, the others around it begin singing as well.  It always happens. There was an egg laid above a fire, and I had Helen take it away from the fire. She hatched the egg, and the Nightopian’s name was Oare.

Then I exited the Dream World to try out one of Will’s Dreams. I took the NiGHTS flying demo again because I had to sort of get comfortable with the controls again. I practiced doing the Acrobatic Flight, although to be honest it is one of the things I have NiGHTS do especially during the boss fights. Then I went back to My Dream and tried to feed a few more of the Nigthtopians whose rings were orange or red. Thirteen of them gathered around Will, and then one started singing and then several more joined. Ahh, the noise…only if it sounds in unison or in a pattern is their singing pretty, but this time it was just a mess! And every time Helen or Will touch a music box, they all start singing automatically.  I'd run into a music box by accident, and then those little guys go nuts.

I needed to improve my score on several levels, so to make the story shorter, I went from a “D” to a “B” in the Vs. Cerberus stage. Then I got a “C” in the Broadway Guide stage, up from “D” from before. The music from the Broadway Guide stage is stuck in my head because it sounds jazzy and catchy. I currently have 14 Dreamdrops.  That’s 46 from the total 60 Dreamdrops there are in the game.

I’m so glad I dreamed about NiGHTS. I was very giddy after I finished playing it for the day. I'm always giddy after playing that game.  Sigh. NiGHTS is my anti-drug…one of my anti-drugs.

There are more supporters for NiGHTS’ 15th Anniversary now than when I first found out about it. I am supporter #699 =3 and the last time I looked there were 959 supporters. Wow! If you want, go HERE and see how the website is doing.

NiGHTS' 15th Anniversary is July 5th 2011 !!!!!!!!!!

I first found out about this today in an email message from NiGHTS Community, and I had to get to it right away.  I am all smiles about this!  This year will be NiGHTS' 14th anniversary and I should play NiGHTS Journey of Dreams that day.  Then July 5th next year should be an exciting year for NiGHTS and NiGHTS fans everywhere!

I am writing about this to spread the word.  Trippy and DiGi Valentine of http://www.nightsintodreams.com/ have a new website that explains the new campaign to let SEGA know that there are other fans of NiGHTS from other countries (such as the U.K. and the United States) who want to be able to play the original NiGHTS into Dreams, whether it's on the XBOX Live or on the PS3 (PSN).

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on HDTV!!!

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!!!
     The Nintendo Wii was absolutely made for newer TV sets. How could I have allowed myself to miss out on the glory that is NiGHTS: JoD on a flat-screen HDTV?!!! (Well the older TV set worked just fine so it wasn’t necessary to make the switch to HD until recently. We weren’t so eager to upgrade earlier.) I tried out the NiGHTS game on the new TV Thursday night. The intro movie for this game is a woooork ooooof aaaaaart!! NiGHTS is so beautiful!!! And I tried the game play on the new TV set and the graphics are much improved! It was the Aqua Garden Chase Stage because it was the easiest, and it was after 2 in the morning so I didn't want to do a difficult stage right before bed.  I was impressed.  It’s gonna be fun getting back to NiGHTS: JoD again.
     But currently I am Mega Man X crazy.

The first time I heard Lee Brotherton...

I've never played Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3.  I probably won't, in the future unfortunately.

     But last summer I heard a song that came from this game.  The song was used in a tribute to NiGHTS on YouTube.  The song is "Dreams of an Absolution" sung by Lee Brotherton (aka Bentley Jones).

     This was before I knew there was a NiGHTSintoDreams.com, with a community of NiGHTS fans participating in the site's forums.  So when I watched this NiGHTS tribute, I fell in love with the song, even though it was the theme song for Silver the Hedgehog :3

     I found some more of his songs on iTunes.  Now I have three versions of Bentley Jones' song "So Much More" in my purple iPod Nano, and another song, "Alpha Dog," which I am absolutely crazy about.  If it wasn't for this NiGHTS tribute video, I would have missed out on such a cool bunch of songs. 

      I dunno when I'll be able to get "Dreams of an Absolution," but I dream of that day...

The Don't Forget NiGHTS Campaign is still not over yet!

NiGHTS still needs out help!!!!

So NiGHTS is the flagman in Sonic and SEGA Allstar Racing, but there is still hope that NiGHTS as a playable character by Downloadable Content will be possible.

He/She just needs a little more help from us, and Trippy, DiGi Valentine and the other good people at NiGHTSintoDreams.com are asking for one last wave of support for NiGHTS.  There is still time—actually less than a month—for us fans to communicate to SEGA that NiGHTS should still be as playable as the other characters in ASR, even if he/she is not in the immediate roster of the game.

Trippy and DiGi Valentine have a plan how to do this. They want us NiGHTS fans to send an email to them directly so that they’ll be all included in one file to send to SEGA, instead of everyone sending separate e-mails.

Here is the link directly to the forum topic: The Last Wave. The directions are clearly explained by DiGi Valentine, including the due date. I definitely will participate in this last wave of support for NiGHTS to be DLC in ASR, though I’m not too keen on downloading content for videogames on the Wii. I hope to. But if I am not able to download on the Wii, then at least the others who are able to download content for the Wii will be able to if NiGHTS is made into DLC. Within the next few days I will send my e-mail to NiGHTSintoDreams.com.  As a loyal NiGHTS fan, I don’t want to let the fandom down by not participating this time. Trippy, DiGi Valentine, and NiGHTS need all the support they can get.

That is not all the good NiGHTSy news I have. This next piece of  NiGHTS-related good news is personal. My sister was so nice. Way back during the holidays, I gave her the .Hack Game Music Perfect Collection as a gift. She listened to it pretty soon afterwards.

Sometime before that, I asked her for something, and I felt like I was asking for the world. I asked her to buy for me the NiGHTS into Dreams Perfect Album CD, and I knew it was going to take a while to get home since its store was overseas, in Japan. So I said, “It doesn’t have to arrive before Christmas. I just want it to get here.” There were other things I wanted (like Dissidia, which she gave me after all), but the one thing I couldn’t put off asking for was this NiGHTS soundtrack.

It arrived yesterday, Wednesday morning. Safe and sound, new and untouched, just for me (=^,^=) and I think this was the most I’ve smiled and screamed in DAYS. I hugged my sister again and again, saying thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou!! For you NiGHTS fans, that song “Message from Nightopia”…I screamed ten times! I could not believe this same song from Sonic Adventure’s NiGHTS Pinball game was in this very soundtrack. Then I’m happy. I’m ecstatic! I can listen to it as many times as I want without having to go to YouTube to listen to it there. My SEGA Dreamcast may still work, but it’s not connected to the TV. Other stuff is, like the PS2 and the Wii. Oh pooh.

But I am a very happy NiGHTS fan now, heeheeeee… ;3

NiGHTS needs our help!! The "Don't Forget NiGHTS Campaign"

NiGHTS is not a playable character in Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing, so I want to help spread the message.  This is a re-posting of this post.

NiGHTS need our help.

    I am a concerned fan of the NiGHTS franchise.  I recieved the latest an issue of Nintendo Power last week and I read about the video game Sonic and SEGA All-Star Racing, but I didn't see one word, not a mention, of NiGHTS  being included in the game at all.  This character has had at least two games of his own (see, I get in the habit of calling NiGHTS a "he," or "his," but I should stop that).
      I've never played NiGHTS into Dreams, but I did play NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.  The point is, I've been a NiGHTS fan since 1997.  I recently visited NiGHTS into Dreams.com and this particular post on the website  definitely caught my attention.
      NiGHTS makes me smile :) .  NiGHTS make a lot of people smile.  NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is so colorful and the music is wonderful and I'm always in a good mood after playing it for a while (just thought I should throw that out there).
     But I read the post on the website and it made me realize how vulerable NiGHTS is to fading away.  NiGHTS is ceasing to exist because the people at SEGA are not aware that so many people, 3,200+ fans mind you, are such loyal fans of the franchise.  There may be even more fans of NiGHTS who are quiet about it but are still fans.  I want to do something about it, and there is a way.  I think that the Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing game looks fun from what I've read in the magazine.  Just like NiGHTS tried tennis in SEGA Superstars Tennis, it would be great for him to try out racing.  He'd have a purple race car ;)
     I think the people at NiGHTS into Dreams.com are doing something wonderful sharing this news with us fans and allowing us to get involved.
     I'm not talking about this just because I want to.  I mean, I do want to.  But this is for the other NiGHTS fans who are able to download content for their Wii consoles.  I personally can't download content to my own Wii unit; I'm not into that stuff.  But this is something I am so passionate about that I somehow have to get involved, regardless of my own situation.
     There is no reason for NiGHTS not to be included in a SEGA game that has the word "Allstars" in it.  NiGHTS is literally a star.  A SEGA star.  If Sonic the Hedgehog is in this game, then so should NiGHTS.  He still may have a chance to be added as DLC (downloadable content) for the game. To learn more about it,  you can click on the link below.

My Crappy NiGHTS Art

Well, it isn't really art, it's just a NiGHTS doodle.  I drew it when I wanted my Thai food box to be distinguished from my other family members' boxes in the fridge (leftovers...heh).

NiGHTS crazy!!

Hi everyone!
     First some news...I joined NiGHTS Community at NiD.com!!! For weeks I was wondering when I should join, because for a long while now (uh, actually since June) I wanted to officially be part of a large group of NiGHTS fans.  When I went around YouTube that time, I watched fan-made videos, most of them slide-shows and a few fan-made flash animated pieces.  I discovered that, wow, I'm not the only NiGHTS fan in the whole world.  No matter how many times I tell my sister how great NiGHTS is, she doesn't care.  Well, I shouldve joined the NiGHTS Community a long time ago.  It's just that I didn't know about NiGHTS into Dreams.com until mid-summer.The fan base is growing ^.^ 
     I'm still trying to set up my avatar and profile pages.

Now for my personal gaming news:
     On November 22, I returned to playing NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.  I wanted to improve my scoring for the Delight City Nightopia, the second mission called "Neon City Battle."  I only earned as good as a "C" in that mission.  I love the music in Neon City Battle :)  A lot of the music in this game makes me wanna dance, and then I feel so giddy!  Ack, I know I can do better than a C in that mission; I just need to use trial and error to not...get...lost.  The level is a maze.  Phew.
     After that, I wanted to improve the score for the Chase Mission in Delight City.  But I forgot that it starts out with Reala talking to NiGHTS, and then they battle!!  Yay, lots of Reala!  It's always so interesting when Reala talks to NiGHTS, cuz that means he's going to make NiGHTS mad,  Nyaw (well, Reala doesn't have a gender either, but he sounds male to me.  NiGHTS on the other hand...;] ).
     Then I went to My Dream.  It was noisy.  I have 30+ Nightopians in there, and at any given time, 50% of them are f*****g singing.  It's those darn musical boxes.  There's several of them, so many of these little guys are bound to bump into one of them, activate the music, and start singing. It's only cute when one or two are singing at a time.  But 10 or more...ergh!!
     Finally, I tried my hand at the final battle, on Helen's side of the story. I had to so the chase mission for Bellbridge first, and THEN its the fight.  I learned that Wizeman has three large circles behind him, and that means three hits.  During the battle, NiGHTS must be a Dolphin in the water, a rocket in outer space, and a Dragon in the area with the fake Wizemans.  I actually(and finally) made it using the Dragon in outer space and the Rocket in the fake Wizeman part.  With 2 SECONDS TO SPARE!!  I remember saying when I had 20 seconds left, that "I don't think I'm gonna make it."  But part of me didn't want to give up just yet, I knew what I had to do.  Those 130 seconds go by fast.

Dreams and fortune telling...?

Once again, I had nice video game-related dreams.
Both NiGHTS...and Jak.
     The first one is the one with NiGHTS.  In fact, Reala was there too!  It was a NiGHTS calendar!!!!  And I need a new calendar!   Well, anyway...Reala looked a lot like the way he's been drawn in much of the fan-art I've seen in DA and NiD.com.  Long black hair, sky-blue skin...kinda like the Dark Magician of Black Chaos from the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series, eh?  I think Reala was in most of the calendar's months.  And of course, the all-adorable NiGHTS made it to my dreams, and I squeal <3 <3 <3 <3

     The second dream was that I received Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier in the mail.  Wow that was quick!  And when did I order it?  The tenth?  Lemme tell you what happened in this dream.  I started playing it, and I don't remember seeing Daxter (maybe my unconscious mind doesn't care much about that orange fuzzball, except that he is 98% of the comic relief in the Jak and Daxter games).  However, there was one level where Jak had to jump up and climb parts of a mountain.  In fact, the gameplay was much like the original Jak and Daxter, and he didn't have any guns with him.  And get this:  the music that was playing in that area was the classic Super Mario Brothers' "underground pipe" level.  Ya know, the one with the blue bricks?  That was weird.  What did that have to do with Jak and Daxter? (starts to sing the song):

     Do dreams tell the future?  I believe so.  I mean, not all the time.  But I knew that the new Jak and Daxter game was coming soon in the mail, so just the fact that I dreamed about it means it's on my mind.  I wondered, is the game and strategy guide going to arrive today?  Tomorrow?  Friday?  Next week...?

I love it when I dream about NiGHTS!

     It was yesterday in the afternoon when I took a short nap on a vinyl chair (not the best place for me to snooze, but I was tired enough to).  In my dreams somehow, I think I was playing a NiGHTS video game, but it was different.  I didn't see Elliot or Claris from NiD, or Helen or Will from NiGHTS: JoD.  But somehow in the middle of it, NiGHTS turned into a baby (Chibi-form, if you will) and was wearing a pacifier.  Odd.  @.@   But I thought NiGHTS was sooo adorable  as a baby.  I think Reala was in the dream too.  I forgot what he did though, or what happened.

      Next, some dreamer was having nightmare problems because of Reala's [possible] intervention into his unconscious??  The dream turned into a comic book sort of style (boy I reeaalllly wish I didn't miss out on those NiGHTS into Dreams comic books by Archie Comics, espcecially the first 3 issues, and unfortunately they're out of print.  It was 12 years ago I believe).  Police were trying to find answers, and the dreamer was scared.  Maybe I should write this as a fan-fiction.

      Hahahaha...NiGHTS into Dreams...and then I dream about NiGHTS, or NiGHTS related stuff.

     I really should join a NiGHTS  fanclub or something.  I know there is a forum in NiGHTS into Dreams.com that I can go to, but I have to register first before I can participate.  I should at least read some of the posts before I begin to sign up and submit something of my own.  I have attepmted to draw NiGHTS  and even Reala before, but I don't know when I'll submit them if I even do any drawings, anyway.  I'm not an artist in terms of drawing or sketching.  Sigh... :(  But I want to show other NiGHTS fans that I'm a fan too!  And a Reala fan as well.  Why can't I just take that first step and join the forums?!!!  I even have my very own fan-made NightMaren that I want to develop  a story for and draw, and share with other fans.  Sigh, rant rant rant...I'm just ranting.

     In N:JoD, I am just inches away from finishing the game, but I've only collected 11 DreamDrops.  Or was it 10?  Ergh.

Dreaming about NiGHTS

Yep. It can happen.

     I dream about NiGHTS too. Sometimes in pink outfits. It was especially after I started playing NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams that I dreamed about NiGHTS more often. There has to be a reason. Why? I am just fascinated by the fact that NiGHTS doen't have a gender. Purple is a combination of blue and pink, anyway (or blue and red). With purple being my favorite color, it was strange and exciting seeing that there was a Sega video game character who dressed up in almost all purple and can fly.

My favorite NiGHTS:Journey of Dreams level

I'm a big NiGHTS fan and I have yet to write anything NiGHTS related in Cyborg Haven.  So here's one. :D

  My favorite level of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is the one in Helen's side of the game, the level in Memory Forest when NiGHTS plays music by flying into the musical notes.  The notes play a version of "Dreams Dreams"  ( I wouldn't have known the title of this song had it not been for NiGHTS into Dreams.com before the site reconstruction).  I've played this level enough times that I went from a "D" to a "C" to finally a "B" grade for the level.  I think it's so adorable when NiGHTS smiles at the screen after the level is done, as if saying "You did it!"   Afterwards, you can hear the notes play perfectly how the melody really goes.  That's how I improved my timing; I had to either make NiGHTS fly faster or slow down so the notes matches the right timing. 
     After at least 5 seconds of getting the notes/timing right, the little Nightopians fly near NiGHTS and sing along with the song.  I almost cried, I was so happy the first time it happened!  I'm always really happy when I play this game.  Then I need to play it more, maybe even finish it if Wizeman will stop being an ass.  <.<
