There was an anime intro movie! Yayyyyy!!!!!!!
So my sister tried out the game. She had X go to the Blast Hornet stage, which had a copious amount of energy pills for X if he were to fill up his Sub-Tanks. It was a short level. But she didn’t reach the boss yet.
Next sis tried the Blizzard Buffalo stage. I love the music for this stage, and I love how there is a purple sky and stars, and the crescent moon in the background. It is one of those stages where the surface is slippery, so this is something new that the MMX series has introduced as one of its obstacles for X. There is a Sub-Tank in this level that needs some sort of grabbing weapon to get (but I don’t know what kind of weapons exactly the Maverick Bosses would give after being defeated.)
What’s different about this game is that the background music fades out and then fades in again, rather than playing in a constant loop. The music also has better quality than that of MMX and MMX2.
Does Mega Man X fly? I mean, he appears to beam down to the stage, right?
Next sis tried out the Crush Crawfish stage. One the first play of a MMX game it is a good idea to just try out the stages and get a good idea on its layout, the enemies, obstacles,…instant death spike locations (shudders). There is a place where there are two Mega Heads together, and that might need some grabbing weapon as well. Sis reached the boss, and it looks like X’s Body Armor is going to be verrrrry important for this battle.
Then she returned to the Neon Tiger stage again, to get further into the stage. We learned that X can ride on the flies. That’s how she got the first Sub-Tank. Those green flies are the key to getting to the other side or another ledge sometimes. After losing all her lives again in that stage, she returned to the Blizzard Buffalo stage because we knew there was another Sub-Tank there. In fact, though she couldn’t get the Sub-Tank yet, she was able to get to the first capsule, which turned out to be the Leg Parts. Yay!!!! I pointed it out to her, and it took several tries, but she made it and got to the capsule. The new Leg Parts allows X to dash in mid-air, left, right, and up. After losing the rest of her extra lives to Blizzard Buffalo’s brutal attacks, she started the stage again and was able to get the second Sub-Tank using the dash jump and the upward dash.
I wonder if I should give this game a try myself…
